2. Tabulators and tables

On the internet find the last results for your favorite pop-music hit parade. Using the tabulators write down the Top-10 songs with this header: sequence number, name of the song, expositor (singer or group).
When you are done iwth the tabulators, rewrite this information again into a table and format the table.
Which tool do you prefer?

3. Gallery

Search the Internet for (at least) nine images on your favourite topic. Save them and create a gallery following these steps:

  1. create a table with three columns and three rows (use table-icon or table > insert > table)
  2. insert an image into each of the cells (insert > image > image from file)
  3. adjust sizes of the cells and images
  4. insert two more rows - one between the first and second and one between the second and the third row
  5. make the borders of the table invisible
  6. center the table
  7. create a title using WordArt
  8. save your image gallery

You may get some inspiration here.

4. Crossword puzzle

Make up your own crossword puzzle similar to the example. Search the Internet for the images (questions of the puzzle) and save them. Then create the crossword:

  1. go to tables > draw a table
  2. using the drawing tool create first the net of the crossword
  3. using the eraser tool erase parts you do not need
  4. color the backgrounds of the cells - the result should be in different color
  5. using the numbering tool create the set of questions below the crossword puzzle - insert one image per number
  6. format the numbers, write the question for the puzzle...
  7. save your work and send it to palkovaj@yahoo.com

5. Collection of fables/short stories

This exercise is a graded work so do your best to produce a great result :-)

  1. In page setup do modifications needed for creating a brochure/small book.
  2. Search the Internet for fables or short-stories.
  3. When you find some you like, copy them into your text editor and format the text and paragraph. Use Initial letter formatting for the first letter of each story, format title and author's name differently than the rest of the text - each title should be formatted using heading1 option (format the styles to suit your taste) and insert also suitable images to accompany the stories.
  4. Create a first page - again use your fantasy to design a front page for your book
  5. Insert page numbers.
  6. Insert table of contents.
  7. On the last page of your book you should have resources - properly referenced web-sites from which you took the stories and images.
  8. when done, save your work and send it to palkovaj@yahoo.com
