1. Different tasks and exercises

Download and unzip this file. Open the document. It consists of several exercises. Follow the instructions and format the text in the exercises 1,2,4,5 and 6. Save your work for next week.

2. Creating an invitation card

Open a new document, in the page setup change the size of the paper to A5 and landscape, and create an invitation to one of these events:

  • Your birthday party
  • Sport event of your choice (soccer, hockey, tennis etc.)
  • Theater performance
  • Valentine party

Don't forget to write the time and place of the event (be creative, think something up :-) ). Format the invitation card using different font formatting and alignments:

  • Format the font(s) of the text, the font style(s), the font color(s), highlighting (if necessary), the color of the background etc.
  • Use different alignments, you may do so on an invitation card, but don't use too many alignments when formatting an essay.
  • If appropriate try using the text effects (animated text)

3. Visit card

Open a new document, in the page setup change the size of the paper to 10cm x 5cm and landscape, and create your own visitcard. Don't forget to state your name, who you are, your home address and phone number and your school address. Format the visit card using the font format features and alignments.

4. Images, ClipArts and WordArt

Create a short (humorous) cartoon using automatic shapes (for bubbles) and ClipArts.

Modify your invitation card with inserting an image to the background (ClipArt or from file - you may find suitable image on the net). To get an image to the background rightclick on the image >> FormatImage >> Position >> Behind text. Choose such an image for the background that will not obstruct the reading of the text. Make modifications in the text color and font. Make the title of the invitation card a WordArt. Choose a suitable WordArt to make the card look nice and professional.
